Digital Impression

Have you ever wondered how our dental technicians create beautiful crowns or veneers that perfectly fit your teeth? Of course, it all comes down to the experience, talent, and dedication of our technicians. However, all of that would be impossible without an accurate impression of your teeth, which serves as the basis for crafting crowns, bridges, veneers, as well as implant-supported restorations like bridges and all-on-four.

There are several types of impressions, but the basic division is between digital and conventional impressions.

Conventional impressions are taken using a tray filled with impression materials.

Digital impression is an impression made by scanning your teeth and surrounding soft tissues using intraoral scanners specifically designed for this purpose, without the use of trays and impression materials.

WHY DIGITAL IMPRESSION?

  • Patient comfort – it is considered one of its greatest advantages. Studies show that the majority of patients prefer digital impressions over conventional ones, considering factors such as smell, gingival sensitivity, gag reflex, and difficulties in breathing during the procedure.

  • Scanning time is relatively short – intraoral scanning takes an average of 4 minutes, compared to around 10 minutes for conventional impressions.

  • Accuracy and precision – the possibility of error is minimized.

  • Data transfer via the Internet – the data is immediately transferred to the dental laboratory, enabling instant laboratory control and more efficient and precise work.

  • Digital database – allows us to quickly and easily access an overview of all previous diagnostic procedures and treatments, eliminating the need for old records and papers.

New technologies, including digital impressions, allow dentists to see everything from a different perspective and with greater precision than before.

Because of all the aforementioned advantages, we now offer digital impressions in our clinic, along with other benefits of digital dentistry.
